How to use the Readability Checker

Paste one bullet per line

Copy the experience section from your resume — bullets as plain lines.

Read the three flags per bullet

Length (>25 words), weak opening (worked on / responsible for / helped), passive voice (was/were + past participle).

Apply the suggested shape

The fix is always the same recipe: action verb + what + result.

Re-run until everything is green

Two minutes of edits here noticeably improves how your resume scans.

25 words is the ceiling

If a bullet passes 25 words, it’s two ideas. Split or cut. Two lines is the visible limit.

Passive voice hides ownership

“The report was delivered” — by whom? “I delivered the report on schedule” owns it.

One idea per bullet

Bullets with “and” usually carry two stories. Pick the stronger one; move the other elsewhere or delete.
